Robinsongs for Kids - Music Together® Teachers

All of our teachers are passionate about music and the development of children. They create a fun, informal, social setting that spurs engagement and supports each child's musical development.

Robin is thrilled to return to her favorite state of Michigan to open Robinsongs For Kids. She comes to us from New York City, where she was both a performer and teacher of music. She has been teaching Music Together for sixteen years - the first eight in NYC, at some of Manhattan's premiere centers. During that time, she also taught music for a Head Start program in the Bronx and worked with developmentally disabled teenagers. Prior to teaching she was a musical theater actress, performing on Broadway and around the world. Robin is a singer-songwriter who performed with her band in venues throughout New York City and who released an album, "Copacetic", on an independent label. She holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theater from the University of Michigan, and has a wonderful dog named Lucy.

Robin brings her musical skills and performing experience to her teaching, as well as her profound love of children. She believes whole heartedly in the Music Together principle that "everyone is musical", and is very excited to be a licensed Music Together Center Director!

After more than six years (and counting!) as a Music Together parent, Jennifer is excited to be teaching for Robinsongs.

Jennifer's teaching is informed by her experiences as a performer, teacher, clinical social worker, and mother of four. She holds a BMA from the University of Michigan and an MM from Northwestern University, both in oboe performance, as well as an MSW from the University of Michigan. Her professional roles have included freelance musician, private instructor, arts administrator, and medical social worker. She has also completed training as a postpartum doula and is pursuing certification through DONA International.

Jennifer is passionate about synthesizing her diverse professional experiences to nurture strong parent-child attachments and playful, musical families. She firmly believes in the power of music to build relationships, and in the power of relationships to change the world.

Catherine is a lifelong singer. She grew up performing in musical theatre and singing in the State of Michigan Honors Choir. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a dual degree in German and Arts and Ideas in the Humanities, she moved to Washington State where she worked for a number of years doing Youth Advocacy and Arts Education. She returned to Michigan three years ago to be nearer family and to bring some of her magic back to the Midwest.

In addition to being a new and enthusiastic Music Together Teacher, she also currently works with young people teaching outdoor skills for the Nature Learning Community and co-leads the Teen Theatre Apprenticeship Program with the Ann Arbor based Spinning Dot Theatre Company. She has worked extensively with young children and finds them to be an absolute delight.
